Here are some guidelines for handling social justice conversations! ​

  • Will this conversation/publication harm someone, or endanger their wellbeing?

  • Will this conversation/publication allow me to explore my thoughts and develop my own opinions on a topical issue?

  • Will this conversation/publication allow me to learn something new?

  • Will this conversation/publication allow me to take a risk (go outside of my comfort zone)?

  • Will this conversation/publication require me to test the validity of my own ideals?

  • Will this conversation/publication allow me to advocate for my own beliefs?

  • Will this conversation require me to actively listen in order to find out more?

  • Will this conversation/publication allow me to defend someone else's point of view?

  • Will this conversation/publication allow me to share my knowledge with others in a constructive and meaningful way?

  • Will my participation in this conversation/publication allow me to add to the common knowledge about this topic? (sharing my story, using my personal experience to generate new points of view/new understanding)?
